U16s Catch Up...

Our under 16s county side has been in action in recent month catch up with how they got below...

West Midlands (H) 21st Nov 2022 7.30pm K.O

Lincolnshire 1 - 5 West Midlands

Goal Scorer: Appleby

We welcomed a very good strong organised West Midlands squad who are known for their strength, depth and play some very good football over the previous seasons.

We started with a good first 20-30 minutes matching West Midlands in an end to end game, both sides showing their passing football well on a bobbly pitch.

West Midlands came out in the second half and played some very good football, credit to the Lincolnshire squad all 11 players on the pitch put up a good fight challenging for every ball to the last second.

Alsiha APPLEBY scored with a shot from outside the box.

We thank our match sponsor – Paul REECE – PTR Plumbing.

Also, massive thanks to Garry Doran, Steve Bowers and Hoyes Developments for the match ball sponsor.

Shropshire (H) 16th Jan 2023 7.30pm K. O

Lincolnshire 1- 2 Shropshire

Goal Scorer: Foley

We welcomed Shropshire on a very cold and frosty evening, the game started with both teams fighting for every ball, again an end-to-end match.

We were luckily to score in the first half to give us the lead through Ebony Foley.

We continued to play some lovely passing football on the ground to make the Shropshire team chase the ball.

In the last five minutes of the game Shropshire executed two very good corners and two fantastic headers made it 2-1.

We learnt a hard lesson this evening in not challenging for the ball in the air, cost us 3 points.

Massive thank you to Hair by Lisa for the match sponsorship and Steve Bowers for the match ball sponsorship.

Worcestershire (A) 6th Feb 2023 7.30pm KO

Worcestershire 1- 2 Lincolnshire

Goal Scorers: Foley, Appleby

We made a very long trip to Worcestershire to start the run of away games, it was another cold evening on a frosty 3g pitch.

The girls were in high spirits from the start, the warmup was good, and the girls were buzzing from the start.

We had changed our formation to go back old school to a 4-4-2 to challenge the players a little more.

Again we showed how good we were at playing some good passing football to work from one end to the pitch to the other end in periods.

A strong half time team talk gave the girls the extra push that was needed after a very long day for them, we again played some good football.

We was able to score two good, well worked goals from Alsiha APPLEBY and Ebony Foley.

The game took a massive turn for the worst when our captain Lilly Doran suffered a fractured ankle in the last second of the game, her never die attitude to the end meant she went in for a tackle and went over on the ankle. This is a massive blow for the squad as all the players look up to Lilly but I know she will be cheering the team on from the side-lines come home or away.
